toolz.google.com

Does anyone know of a tool to convert real audio files to mp3?
I need a tool to backup and sync my memory key daily....
How I wish I had a utility that would tell me the codec used to encode any media file...
If I had a handwriting font this flyer would look much better.....

The list is endless..............

There are countless sites dedicated to such utilities. I have been through many of them. Most of them are well organized into categories and sub categories. The problem here is knowing which category to look into. The sheer size of the collection puts off many people. Having been introduced to the internet via a dial-up line, I still have the bad habit of trying to 'reap' and 'download accelerate' everything I see. This has lead to a pretty large collection of utilities and tools. So, I thought I would put them the way they do it in CNet-style web sites. So far I have made copies of the CD for at least 10 of my friends. All of them have come back to me saying that there are too many utilities there that they just don't know what is what.

Enter our trusted ally Google........ utilities.google.com

This would be a Google search just for freeware, shareware and commercial ware software. And, for a starter I can provide the initial cache!
